“Across the globe, action research is experiencing a renaissance at the same time it is undergoing a transformation.” This sentence opens the Introduction to the Handbook and speaks directly to the overall International Handbook project. The project has two main components. The first is a print volume published by Palgrave McMillan, featuring 87 authors and 49 chapters that reflect a diverse international range of action research activity and theory, challenges and promising pathways forward. The second is this companion website which not only features work and publications of the authors of the Handbook but also calls out for – and seeks to facilitate – greater networking, sharing and knowledge building.
